Tomorrow Inc. has closed a $2.1 million seed round to scale its work in reimagining taste. The round is backed by Compound, Atria Ventures, Julian Capital, Humba Ventures, and Formation Capital.

Tomorrow designs Tomorrow Taste Proteins™: proteins built from the same 20 natural amino acids that build every protein in your body. These proteins are designed so that when one is placed on your tongue, it activates your taste receptors and simulates the delicious taste of anything you can imagine, giving healthy food the control it needs to have the taste, health, and price that will help brands shift into the modern era.

The company's first ingredient, TomorrowSweet™, is now in market. Its v1.9 release is 90% identical to sugar in taste, all within the profile of a simple protein, and is launching with exclusive partners. Among the first is Lion Hydration, whose Sweet Shifting Hydration drink, sweetened with TomorrowSweet™, has launched nationally at Walmart.
